Painting this snake came from a place of anger and a blender of emotions as I watch what continues to unfold in Iran.
There is a feeling of internal writhing, of pressure building with nowhere to go. This snake doesn’t announce itself; it is quiet, almost voiceless, holding its voice inward. That silence feels intentional. It mirrors the experience of wanting to scream or strike, but being forced instead to coil, wait, and endure.
For me, the snake became a vessel for restrained rage, suppressed grief, and the tension of existing without a platform or permission to speak freely.
